Where the HankyBook came from

HankyBook was created by Leslie, who took up the handkerchief as an engineering student at UC Berkeley and grew tired of folding one square of cloth again and again to keep finding a clean surface. She designed a handkerchief that arrived “pre-folded”: soft cotton pages that did the work of the folds, and a cover to keep the ick trapped. After a successful San Diego Earthfair in 2010, HankyBook launched, and a 2013 Kickstarter campaign raised $12,500 to screen-print woven covers at scale. Read the full HankyBook story.
